RTA service timings during Al Israa holiday

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the service timings to be observed at RTA customer service centres, paid parking zones, public bus stations, Dubai Metro, marine transit means, driving institutes, and vehicles testing and licensing centres during the Al Israa Wal Miraaj holiday (Ascension of the Prophet - PBUH) on Sunday, June 17, 2012.

Dr Aysha Al Busmait, Director of RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication, (pictured) said: "All RTA customer service centres will be closed during the Al Israa (Ascension) holiday; which falls on Sunday, June 17, and will resume duty on Monday, June 18. Paid parking zones in the emirate of Dubai will be available free of charge on Sunday, except for the parking lot of Deira Fish Market, and the multi-level car parks.”

The Dubai Metro stations will receive passengers during the said holiday as usual on week days i.e. from 05:50am up to 12:00am (midnight). The service timing of public buses (Dubai Bus) will be as follows: Public bus stations (including main stations such as Gold Souk, Al Ghubaiba 1 & 2): from 06:00am to 10:00pm. Subsidiary bus stations (such as Satwa, Al Qusais, Al Quoz Industrial) will be open from 06:00am to 12:00am (midnight), and Jebel Ali Bus Station will open from 06:00am to 10:00pm.

Bus feeder service for the Metro Stations at Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta and Burj Khalifa will offer service from 06:00am to 12:00am (midnight) throughout the week, while in Abu Hail and Etisalat Stations the service will be available from 06:00am to 10:00pm. Inter-city bus service will be offered as follows: Main stations (such as Al Ghubaiba) will be operational 24 hours daily, and external stations (such as Meydan and Sabkha) will offer service from 06:00am to 12:00am (midnight), whereas in City Center and Karama Stations buses will start service from 06:00am to 10:00pm.

Metro Feeder Bus Stations at Sharjah, Bur Dubai will be operating round-the-clock; Sharjah, Deira, Abu Dhabi will start operation from 06:00am and continue to 12:00am (midnight), Hatta Station will offer service from 05:50am to 09:30pm, and Al Fujairah, Ajman routes will start service at 06:00am and continue up to 10:00pm.

The marine transit modes will remain operational throughout the week, as follows: Water Bus from 07:00am to 10:00pm, Water Taxi from 10:00am to 10:00pm, and Ferry Dubai from 09:00am to 09:00pm.

Driving institutes, such as Emirates Institute, Belhasa Center, Al Ahli Center, Dubai Center, and Galadari Center will be closed on Sunday, June 17 and will resume duty on Monday, June 18. The timing of registration offices located in the shopping centres will be geared to the working hours of those centres.

Wasil and Mumayyaz Vehicles Testing Centres will be off duty on Saturday and resume duty on Sunday, while Al Shamil, ENOC, and Al Ghandi Tamam Vehicles Testing Centres will be closed on Sunday and resume duty on Monday.
