Funds raised for autism care
Autism in Dubai, a site/initiative that strives to integrate autistic children in the society, recently held a gala night at the Atlantis hotel to raise awareness for autism in the UAE. The event hosted more than 300 high-net worth individuals from the country where all funds were donated to the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
“It’s been a real honour to hold such a successful event in Dubai and thank you to all the sponsors that joined the cause to improve the lives of those affected by this disorder and to be. Autism in Dubai, aims at integrating autistic children in society through ongoing communication about education, healthcare, and events. Hopefully we will see the cause picking up more and more by the years” said Rana Akkad Atassi, Autism in Dubai.
There is only one school in Dubai that supports autistic children which accommodates 43 children with a waiting list of 250 children. None of the mainstream private schools has the proper staff or training to accept these children.
