Tim Hortons opens at Al Majaz Waterfront
The first Tim Hortons café and bake shop has opened in Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation, formally inaugurated the Tim Hortons café and bake shop at Al Majaz Waterfront.
The inauguration of the new Tim Hortons outlet at Al Majaz Waterfront was attended by Nilesh Ved, Chairman and CEO of Apparel Group – the master licence agreement partner for Tim Hortons, and Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Shurooq – the developer of Al Majaz Waterfront.
Sheikh Sultan said: “This is a historic moment for Tim Hortons in Sharjah. Since its launch in the UAE late last year, Tim Hortons has taken the market by storm and it is our great privilege to welcome the brand to Sharjah. We are extremely proud of the Al Majaz Waterfront development, and the opening of Tim Hortons within this iconic project is the perfect feather in the cap.”
The unique ambience of Al Majaz Waterfront now provides the perfect setting for UAE residents to enjoy the coffee and delicacies on offer at Tim Hortons, coupled with quality service, value pricing and the convenience of a coffee shop in a family-oriented leisure environment.
Nilesh Ved said Al Majaz Waterfront has a vibrant community all its own and attracts thousands of visitors every week. “Sharjah is the cultural hub of the UAE and the new Tim Hortons has been part of the cultural tradition of Canada. That we have brought them together at the iconic destination – Al Majaz Waterfront – makes this a truly unique experience for customers.”
He added: “At Al Majaz Waterfront, we hope to fulfil our promise ‘Always Brewing. Always Baking’ coupled with the location’s serenity and artistic aspect.”
Adding colour to the inauguration ceremony was the Pink Caravan team, which has spearheaded a unique initiative in Sharjah to spread awareness, provide treatment and raise funds to fight breast cancer across the UAE. As part of the Apparel Group’s CSR role, Nilesh Ved handed over a cheque to the Pink Caravan which will help support their activities and services.
Tim Hortons currently operates seven outlets in the UAE, including four in Dubai [Sheikh Zayed Road, Deira City Centre, Dubai Outlet Mall and Jumeirah Beach Residence], one in Abu Dhabi [Mushrif Mall], one in Fujairah [Fujairah City Centre] with Al Majaz Waterfront being the seventh cafe and bake shop.
