3 malls to light up DSS 2012

DSS 2012Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre, and Mirdif City Centre are participating in Dubai Summer Surprises 2012 (DSS 2012) by offering shoppers the chance to win daily prizes while also engaging in unique family entertainment. Shoppers at any of the three malls can also avail of discounts and win 100 gold coins every day by shopping for Dh300.

Here is a calendar of events taking place at the three malls during DSS 2012:

Mall of the Emirates:

June 24-28: Ice Age ‘Adventure Camp’ live show in the Central Galleria. Visitors will also have the chance to meet their favourite characters following the show or during weekends at Ski Dubai from June 8 to 23.

June 24-July 12: Educational summer camp, “Cool Kids Summer Camp,” in partnership with DUCTAC from 10am-4pm on weekdays (Sunday-Thursday) for children ages 6 to 12 years old. Kids will have an opportunity to participate in unique supervised workshops ranging from arts, crafts, and entertainment activities.

July 10-14: Throughout DSS, Mall of the Emirates will also organise weekly prize raffles at Magic Planet until June 30; showing of ‘Cats’, and premiering brand new movies at VOX Cinemas including ‘Madagascar 3’, ‘GI Joe 2’, ‘Ice Age 4’, and ‘The Amazing Spiderman 3D’.
 

Deira City Centre:

June 25-July 6: Candy World Adventure with kids’ candy themed arts and crafts workshops on Centre Stage from 12pm-9pm, Sunday-Tuesday and 12pm-6pm, Wednesday-Saturday. Extended workshops on July 5 and 6 from 12pm-9pm.

June 27-30 & July 3-4: There will be shows from ‘Lollypopcorn Town’ at 6pm, 7:30pm and 9pm. In addition, a special Lollypopcorn parade with characters from the show will be on on July 1 and 2 at 6pm, 7:30pm and 9pm.

July 8-14: Kids Fashion Week from 6pm and 7:30pm. A kids’ fashion show will take place at the Centre Stage with participants from the local community modelling the latest summer fashion trends. Kids can register to participate in Fashion Week from June 21 to 30, 10am to 10pm.

July 5-14: Children will get to participate in Fashion Workshops the Metro Link where they can design and make their very own stylish accessories daily from 10am to 10pm.

Mirdif City Centre:

June 14-24: The Smurfs Show will be held at the Central Galleria at 4:30pm, 6:00pm and 7:30pm. There is also an additional late night show on Thursday and Friday at 9:00pm. The Smurfs Show will be a celebration for the Blue Moon Festival, one of the most festive times in the Smurf calendar. There is no show on June 17.

June 26-July 5: The Mongolia Circus, a professional acrobatic act illustrating the customs of Mongolia. The performance includes national dress, dancing, acting, contortion, strongman, and acrobatics. This cultural act will be held at the Central Galleria daily at 4:30pm, 6:00pm, and 7:30pm.

July 6-14: The Puppets Festival will run daily starting at 4:00pm. The Puppets Festival is an imaginative show featuring state-of-the-art puppetry with masks, marionettes, shadows, and rod puppets.
