New Salik top-up service via SMS
The Intelligent Traffic Systems Department at the Traffic & Roads Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has announced the launch of a new service (specimen pictured) for recharging Salik accounts through text messages, over and above the currently available Salik account top-up options; be it through the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) by calling 80072545 (800SALIK) or visiting the Salik portal.
The move comes as part of the RTA’s efforts to keep pace with the latest systems and standards in offering quality services to Salik customers and boosting customers’ satisfaction efforts.
Engineer Maitha bin Udai, CEO of the RTA Public Transport Agency, said: “This step is in line with our commitment to realise the RTA’s drive to improve the customer service experience to bring it on par with excellence standards through saving customers’ time and effort, and simplifying the steps of recharging Salik account balance.
“We have noticed that the existing options for topping up Salik accounts, be it through telephone calls or Salik webpage, require several steps to go through. Therefore, we have capitalised on our efforts and expertise to provide another additional option in a bid to offer a handy service to customers and accordingly raise their satisfaction rating,” continued Maitha.
“The new service is simple as it only requires the customer to write in the text message the following data, and in the following order: Number of Salik tag, Salik account number, and Salik PIN; and then send these contents to the service-dedicated number 5959; whether one is a user of Etisalat or Du network. The fees involved will be restricted to 30 fils per SMS,” she added.
