The private sector in the UAE will enjoy a three-day holiday – from Thursday, November 30 to Saturday, December 2, 2017 – on the back to back occasions of the Prophet’s (PBUH) birthday, Commemoration Day and 46th UAE National Day respectively. The private sector will resume work on Sunday, December 3, 2017.

The private sector’s holiday period was announced on November 22, 2017, by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

According to the ministry, the public sector in the country will enjoy a four-day holiday – from Thursday, November 30 to Sunday, December 3, 2017, both days inclusive. The public sector will resume work on Monday, December 4, 2017.

The combined holiday period for both the private and public sectors makes it the last official long weekend in the UAE for 2017.
