Here are a few hacks to keep your phone battery in optimum condition

If you’re going to spend the whole day outside the house, you’re going to want your phone’s battery to last as long as it can. Simply plugging your phone in as soon as you get home and leaving the charger on until you leave in the morning is not the right solution. You might think that just not using your phone will keep the battery alive, but there’s more to it than just that. Here are some tips on how to increase the life of your phone’s battery.

Don’t let your phone overheat

Heat is one of the worst things that can happen to a lithium-ion battery. All you have to do is take basic precautions, like keeping it away from the sunlight. You should also not put your phone on charge while playing high-graphic games, because that will raise the temperature of the phone and can harm the battery. In case you don’t know, the average charging temperature should be between 20-30 degrees Celsius.

Leave your phone alone while charging

You should always avoid using your phone when it’s on charge. This kind of usage can damage the battery and is called parasitic charging. The battery is prevented from entering a full charging cycle when the phone is being used

Never use a fake charger

There are plenty of fake chargers out there; do not use them. Always use the phone manufacturer’s own charger. A charger with a higher capacity can juice up your phone quicker but it can also damage it in the process.

Charge on the right time

There’s no need to charge your phone up to 100% all the time. You can just start using it and run the battery down before bringing it to a full charge again. Also, don’t let the battery go all the way down to zero before charging it. It’s best to put your phone on charge when it’s around 10%. This lengthens the life of the battery.

Do not charge your phone all night

Now if you do this every night, your phone will probably not get damaged but there is a chance that it’s hurting your battery life. You are better off unplugging it at night. There might be no practical problem with leaving your battery plugged in, but charging it up to 100% everyday increases percentage of ageing.
