If you pride yourself on being a diehard BlackBerry fan and have not sold out to any other smartphone brand out there and you... All-new BlackBerry Motion smartphone ticks the right boxes

If you pride yourself on being a diehard BlackBerry fan and have not sold out to any other smartphone brand out there and you are looking to upgrade to the latest BlackBerry device look no further than the newly launched BlackBerry Motion which is also the first BlackBerry smartphone to feature IP67 water and dust resistance, the world’s first nano diamond anti-scratch display and the largest battery ever in a BlackBerry.

The BlackBerry Motion is also the first BlackBerry dual SIM device to be launched in the Middle East. Apart from the IP67 water and dust resistance and the new 5.5-inch Full-HD premium anti-scratch display, the sleek BlackBerry Motion features a hardened aluminum frame and soft-grip textured back to provide greater durability and protection for everyday use.

The all-new device is equipped with the largest battery ever in a BlackBerry smartphone (4,000mAh), offering 32+ hours of mixed use. When charging is required, the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 enables up to a 50% charge in about 40 minutes via a USB Type-C charger. Powered by Android 7.1 Nougat, this smartphone delivers access to the Google Play store and is set to receive monthly Android security updates.

As with the BlackBerry KEYone, the BlackBerry Motion is designed with in-built security. This includes a hardened OS and BlackBerry Limited’s proprietary technique for establishing a hardware root of trust and adding security keys to the processor. The BlackBerry Motion also comes with all the signature BlackBerry experiences that bring an unmatched level of efficiency to everything one does on the phone like BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Calendar, DTEK by BlackBerry and BlackBerry Boost charging.

A new security feature in this phone is Locker – an encrypted, secure zone that can only be accessed with the fingerprint sensor or a password – and which can securely store your photos, private messages and confidential documents without being automatically uploaded to the cloud.

The device’s smart Convenience Key offers great functionality and context to the quick-access physical key – unique to BlackBerry smartphones. This feature now includes four customisable profiles for home, car, office and user, allowing for three different shortcut options that can be triggered by a home Wi-Fi network, in-car Bluetooth, meetings that are synced to BlackBerry Hub or apps that are most commonly used. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the front of the device, which doubles as a physical home button for added ease of use.

With photo opportunities abounding in our daily life the BlackBerry Motion features a 12MP auto-focus camera that captures sharp, crisp photos in any light. The wide aperture lens with large pixels and dual-tone flash ensures that photos have superior colour and clarity. Take crystal clear selfies and join conference calls on the go with the 8MP front camera with fixed focus, LCD flash, and 84-degree wide angle lens. Plus, now you can save digital copies of documents, business cards or receipts with the built-in scanner.

The BlackBerry Motion’s home button doubles as a perfectly placed fingerprint sensor for easy device unlocking. It can also be used to gain access to your Locker and take photos on Locker Mode or to confirm purchases you make from your device.

A key feature of this new phone is Privacy Shade. This particular feature prevents people around you from seeing your screen by blocking out everything except for a small viewable area that you alone control; perfect for when you’re out and about while working with confidential information. The BlackBerry Motion comes with Android preloads, including Gmail, Hangouts, and other Google offerings.

Launched by TCL Communication, the all-new BlackBerry Motion is available for Dh1,699 at select electronics retailers across the UAE.
