Union Coop, the largest cooperative in the UAE, has stated that it spent Dh46 million on promotion offers covering over 50,000 food and non-food products during the first three quarters of 2017 with the aim of reducing the financial burden that community members face with their daily needs.
Khalid bin Diban Al Falasi, CEO of Union Coop, said: “Union Coop remains committed to preparing and implementing promotional programmes with an eye on serving the community. This stems from our belief in our goals and realising consumers’ happiness.”
Separate from the Q3 2017 price reduction offers, Al Falasi said: “The offers we provide cover various product types, especially ethnic foods, and take into consideration the cultural diversity in the UAE. Consumers can enjoy up to 50% discount on selected products throughout the year via promotion books and buy 2 get 2 offers. Consumers may also benefit from further price reductions with the loyalty programme ‘Tamayaz Card’.
“As a national entity, we strive to maintain stability in the retail market and provide best competitive prices. Our work team prepare proactive plans for offering food products at market-lowest prices by directly contracting with leading providers and farmers,” Al Falasi added.
He continued: “Following the directives of our wise leadership, we support members of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, and Dubai SME. We also support local producers and aqua-farmers by facilitating transactions, providing space throughout our outlets, and short payment cycles.”
